How has he leveraged technology? And what are his tips for other aspiring musicians?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Advice only gets you so far<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>\u201cThis game that we\u2019re in \u2013 there are so many methods and ways to make it big,\u201d <\/em>Aitch says.<em> \u201cYou can take in as much advice as you want, but no matter what <\/em><em>someone says, it might not work for you.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The upshot? You have to find your way \u2013 and most of all, get stuck in.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Leverage YouTube<\/strong><br \/>\nWithout the streaming platform YouTube, Aitch might not have made it. Aware of his considerable talents, he opened a channel and dropped a debut track \u2013 <strong>Straight Rhymez<\/strong> \u2013 which quickly went viral. Filmed in a single location on an estate in Manchester, the video had few frills \u2013 but Aitch\u2019s lyricism and freestyle talent shone through. In an age where self-made YouTubers dominate, don\u2019t let a small production budget hold you back. And by a small production budget, we mean a cameraman holding a mobile phone.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Aitch - Straight Rhymez 1 (prod. Pezmo) @OfficialAitch\" width=\"788\" height=\"443\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gB7SvMdxVmU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Enjoy the performance<\/strong><br \/>\nLive gigs are part and parcel of a career in music. If you don\u2019t have the stomach for the crowd, you\u2019ll struggle to hold down your fan base. For Aitch, live gigs are \u201c<em>his favourite part<\/em>\u201d. His cheeky personality shines through on stage and his shows are characterised by a sea of shining phones, as his every moment is recorded for posterity by his adoring fans.<\/p>\n<p>A highlight? \u201c<em>Playing the O2 in Manchester was special to me. That meant a lot. But I <\/em><em>look ahead and know there\u2019s a lot more to come.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Social media is your friend \u2013 and occasionally your enemy<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>\u201cSocial media is a big reason for my success. The scene wouldn\u2019t be anywhere near where it\u2019s at without it. Imagine there\u2019s one kid posting freestyles every day. We\u2019re staring at our phone so much, eventually we\u2019ll think, \u2018Right, let me check this, it\u2019s been on my timeline for seven days.\u2019 I don\u2019t want to beg people, but you\u2019ve got to<\/em><br \/>\n<em>put it in people\u2019s eyesight.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Aitch cops a fair amount of criticism. But he ignores this as much as he can.<br \/>\n<em>\u201cIt\u2019s super important to not take anything to heart &#8211; so stay in your own bubble and <\/em><em>stay looking forward.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Be smart with your time and money<\/strong><br \/>\nWant to get in the studio? Aitch was much the same. But operating on a limited budget, he decided to play it smart, writing his lyrics and practising the song at home before booking an hour\u2019s studio time \u2013 long enough to nail the song quickly and efficiently.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Never take it for granted<\/strong><br \/>\nWith a legion of fans who follow his every movement, you\u2019d forgive Aitch for a spot of hubris.
